Google verification code not received: what can you check?

Short answer

First identify the challenge: SMS, email and a Google prompt are different routes. A missing code is not the same as a lost recovery number, a security hold or confirmed account compromise.

Read Google’s verification troubleshooting

We never ask for your account address, password or verification code. AccountsAid cannot recover an account for you.

Identify the channel before retrying

Read what Google actually offers. This guide does not send or intercept codes.

  • Google prompt

Check whether Google offered a notification on a signed-in device rather than an SMS code.

  • Text message

Confirm that you control the displayed number and that the phone can receive texts. Google notes that availability and delivery vary.

  • Email

Check the offered mailbox, including spam or junk. If that mailbox is inaccessible, the problem is access to the channel, not just delivery.

What should the next step depend on?

Criterion The channel is yours and usable You cannot access the channel
Follow the displayed instruction. If several codes were requested, Google says only the newest works. There is no guaranteed resend interval asserted by this guide. Use another offered method or owner recovery. Do not keep requesting messages to an address or number you do not control.

A useful stopping point

Note: If no usable option is offered, return to the owner recovery guidance. Do not pay for a code-delivery bypass or assume a universal waiting period. This page cannot change Google’s challenge or ensure that a code is sent.

Find the missing message before requesting another

Read the exact challenge Google offers before trying again. This page cannot send a code or identify a universal resend interval.

  • Google prompt

Look for an offered notification on a device already signed in. Waiting for SMS will not help if the current challenge is a prompt.

  • Text message or call

Confirm the displayed number is yours and the device can receive the selected channel. Delivery may vary by carrier and location.

  • Email message

Check the specified mailbox and spam folder. If you cannot open that mailbox, the problem is access to the method, not simply delayed delivery.
