Review devices signed in to your Google Account
Short answer
A device list shows sessions, not a perfect record of people. Check the details before deciding whether a session is yours; sign out ones you no longer trust.
Review your devices inside GoogleWe never ask for your account address, password or verification code. AccountsAid cannot recover an account for you.
What a device entry means
Google may show multiple sessions for one physical device.
-
Device and browser
Compare with hardware and browsers you actually used.
-
Time and location
These are clues; automatic syncing and approximate location can make them look unfamiliar.
-
Signed-out label
Distinguish old signed-out sessions from active access.
When an entry is not yours
Use Google's account controls, not a third-party dashboard.
-
Open Manage all devices
Inspect the device or session details.
-
Sign out uncertain sessions
Google advises signing out on devices you do not own or recognize.
-
Secure the account
Change your password and review security events if there is unfamiliar activity.
Can you track who signed in to your Google Account?
Use the device list to assess your own account access, not to identify or follow another person.
-
A session is not a person
One device can have several browser, app or service sessions. Do not treat each session as a different intruder.
-
The time is not necessarily a human action
Google says the time can reflect communication with its systems, including background synchronization.
-
Location is a clue
A nearby place or unfamiliar label is not proof of someone’s identity or precise movements. Review session details and remove access you do not recognize.
What a device entry can and cannot tell you
Use the device list as a security clue for your own account. Combine several observations before deciding a session is unfamiliar.
-
Device or session label
Shows a device type, browser, app or session; it does not name the person using it.
-
Last activity time
Can include background communication with Google, not only a person opening the account.
-
Approximate place
Can be a nearby place rather than a precise location or a live map.
